Unfortunately Budget is not able to provide vehicles or hand controls for renters with special needs.

The renter must have held a valid driver's license for at least 12 months and must present it at the time of rental. The licence must be valid at the time of rental and remain valid throughout the rental period. All drivers must meet Budgets’ requirements.

Budget in Australia will accept the following drivers licence:

A driver's licence issued by any state or territory in Australia or New Zealand.

A driver's licence issued by any United States, territory, or possession.

A valid driver's licence issued by a country participating in the 1949 Geneva convention on Road Traffic or the 1943 Convention on the Regulation of Inter-American Automobile Traffic. (Call your nearest reservation office for participating countries.)

Any foreign renter must carry a driver's licence written in English. Any customer carrying a non-English licence must also present an International Driving Permit that is written in English. 

International driving permits serve only as a translation, and are valid if presented in conjunction with an official driver's licence of the issuing country. 

Restrictions:

* Individuals with Learner's Permits, Provisional or Probationary licences may not operate Budget vehicles.

* Budget is unable to rent a car to anyone with a suspended, revoked, expired, cancelled or surrendered driver licence.

Temporary licences:

* A temporary licence issued as a replacement for a lost licence or due to a change of address is accepted and will be checked for validity.

* A temporary licence issued as a beginner's permit for the purpose of learning to drive is not accepted.

Pets or animals are not permitted in any Budget vehicle, with the exception of assistance and guide dogs for individuals who are visually or hearing impaired or who require assistance dogs for emotional or other forms of support. As with all rentals, additional cleaning fees may be charged in the event the interior of the vehicle requires unusual or unexpected vacuuming, sanitation or shampooing.

Seats cannot be removed from a minivan or any other vehicle.

Budget is able to provide child safety seats at an additional cost if you are travelling with a child. You are able to reserve a child seat while making your booking via www.budgettrucks.com.au, otherwise please notify staff or the location that you would like a child safety seat and advise the age of the child and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

The Budget Maxi Cosi Capsule and Pram is available to hire from Budget Tasmania locations. This system allows the Baby Capsule to be easily removed from the vehicle and joined to a pram, giving you an easy and convenient way of transporting your child without the worry of having to bring your own. Please call the location directly to enquire.

Yes. Budget has a wide range of moving accessories available such as trolleys, hydraulic lifters, packing blankets, boxes, mattress protectors, packing tape and bubble wrap. These can be rented at an additional cost either via www.budgettrucks.com.au at the time of making your reservation or directly from the rental location. Please contact the location you are renting from to find out availability and any associated costs.

No, you must have your own driver.

No, only fully licenced drivers are permitted to drive our vehicles.

Learners permit, provisional licence or probationary licence holders are not permitted to drive our vehicles.

These are only accepted when issued as a replacement to previously qualified drivers under conditions such as renewal, lost licence, change of name, change of address. Temporary licences will be checked for stamp or seal and expiration date.
